What happens when you wake up and check your Instagram feed? Of course your best friend posted one of those yummy, beautiful, let me lick food photos. So here I am guilty and anxious to try one of the new recipes my friend posted recently on her Instagram wall: Almond Pear Deliciousness Tart.

Insights:

Very easy to make, smells delicious and very tasty. Next time I would add a little more flour to see how it turns out (I just got the feeling that it needed more flour). I substituted the walnuts for almond nuts due to allergy, and used regular green pears. I will flood you with pictures and at the bottom you can find the printable version of the recipe.

The recipe:

750 gr juicefull pears – cut several of them as thin as possible for decoration, the rest just need to be diced.
100 gr walnuts – crushed
180 gr butter at room temperature
2 eggs
50 gr dark chocolate(75%)- I used chocolate chips
140 gr white or brown sugar
140 gr flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp honey (it’s used for glazing, and it’s optional)
24 cm Spring baking form

Process:

1.Mix eggs and sugar together until light foam has formed.

  1. Add room temperature butter and mix.

  1. Add the flour and baking powder and mix with the spatula until well combined.

  1. Add chocolate, nuts (crushed), and pear(cut in small square pieces) – mix until well combined.
Add parchment paper to the bottom of your spring form. Butter the walls with butter and sprinkle with flour. Make sure that you tap away any flour excess. Add the batter to the form.

  1. Arrange the pear slices on top of the batter.

  1. Bake at 320F (160C) for about 55-60 minutes, depending on your oven. Check out the readiness by color and using a wooden tooth pick, if inserted and comes out clean – it’s ready. Spread honey all over the cake and let it cool.

Voila! Enjoy and don’t forget to let me know how it turned out for you:)

  1. This looks absolutely delicious! I’m going to have to wait to eat something like this though since I’m on a low carb diet right now.
